I got a Komo mill from my friend 3 week ago. It's great! The smell of fresh flour is awesome :) It works very well for bread making and I'm now wondering how it could be used to make regular morning cereal.In Germany a "FrischKornBrei" is quite popular but the grain (ground into coarse flour) is not cooked, only soaked with cold water, so I'm not sure if it is really well digestible.

I have a hand mill (Wondermill Jr.), and do a lot of my own milling. I bake a lot of bread (sometimes more than 70 a week; selling in a little shop and market), so I buy 20 kg sacks of bread flour and whole wheat flour. I mill most everything else though (Kamut, spelt, rye, Red Fife, hull-less barley, soft white wheat and some others) by hand.

Wow, what a great site with so much helpful info. I really want to join the home grain milling tribe! Every 6 months, I spend hours researching mills online, get too confused and don't order anything...But I think I'm close...right now it's Nutrimill vs. Wolfgang/Komo. Both seem like great mills, but on the downside I see it as micronizer vs. unknown millstone material.
